Artist Statement:

As a trans-non-binary brown artist from Colombia, my work explores creative ways to connect with my ancestry to re-imagine what colonization erased for us at the same time I try to foresee a future where queerness can exist alongside other sides of my self in harmonious non-violent and open ways. When I reflect on ‘home’ during the pandemic and self-isolation, I imagined a landscape of faces from the people who helped me survive. And then there is this dog that found me and brought me to a whole adventure. I fabulate that I’m a dream of hers produce by a magical intervention of my first dog that I had when I was very young in Bogotá. Ancestral more-than-human futurism y’all!
