Philip Olalo is a multidisciplinary artist, campy drag queen, and all around good friend. They’ve competed on the University of Texas’s national slam poetry team, where their work is a reflection of a Millennial Filipinx trying to find their home in the diaspora. Philip is a they/them gender clown and can occasionally be seen around town as their alter ego “Anita Hug”. Anita is fun, flirty, and probably hungry for snacks. This fusion of poetry and drag is a new hybrid style of performance that was recently given space to grow at the Transgender Day of Visibility event hosted by Gender Unbound and The Q. Anita Hug is proud to bring you a selection of poems about being Queer, Radical, and unabashedly vulnerable.
