Calling all intersex creators! We’re hosting our second annual Intersex Art Jam, and you’re invited–all skill levels and art forms welcome.
Come celebrate Intersex Awareness Day in community with other intersex people as we draw, craft, talk about our latest projects, or just hang out in a supportive atmosphere. Bring whatever you’d like to work on or show up and let inspiration guide you–Gender Unbound and Community Art Therapy will also provide arts and crafts supplies that you can use however you like.
This is an intersex-focused space that accepts people with a variety of relationships to intersex identity. You’re welcome to join in, whether you’ve been an intersex rights activist all your life, or you’re just now exploring the possibility that you are intersex, or you fit under the umbrella but aren’t sure how you feel about the term “intersex,” or anything in between. For more information on intersex experiences, advocacy, or peer support, check out InterACT or InterConnect.
This event is free and open to all intersex people!
We consider “intersex” to be an umbrella term for people born with differences in sex traits or reproductive anatomy, which may include chromosomes, body parts, or hormones. Anyone born with a difference in these traits is welcome. Check out InterACT’s Intersex Variations Glossary to learn more about intersex variations.
If you are an ally to intersex people, you can donate to Gender Unbound to support future intersex-focused community events!
