FAQs:

Who is invited to attend this event?

Transgender and/or intersex people of all ages!

We consider the intersex umbrella to include anyone born with differences in sex traits or reproductive anatomy, which may include chromosomes, body parts, hormones. or other variations that do not fall into typical binary gender expectations.

We consider the transgender umbrella to include anyone who does not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth, including nonbinary, agender, gender fluid, third gender, and two spirit people.

You do not have to prove that you are “trans enough” or “intersex enough” to attend this event. We welcome the diversity of experiences and perspectives in our trans and intersex communities.

I’m a cisgender and endosex (non-intersex) ally. Can I attend the Community SING?

Thank you for your support of Gender Unbound! To create an affinity space of safety and solidarity, this event is for trans and/or intersex people only. Cisgender and endosex family members or loved ones who are providing transportation to trans/intersex attendees are invited to relax in the theatre lobby during the event.

I’m not a trained singer, and I don’t know how to read sheet music. Can I still attend?

Yes! All trans and/or intersex people are welcome regardless of musical background, training, or skill.

I don’t like to be in the spotlight. Will I have to perform or sing solo if I attend?

No! This event is about singing together, not being put on the spot to perform. We will be singing together with and for ourselves.

How much does it cost to attend?

There is no cost to attend! Donations are optional but gratefully accepted.
